The combination of the two forced me to revisit the precedence of app configuration when testing Laravel. This is something I covered in Confident Laravel, but wanted to document it in a post.

But it can be a bit of a gotcha within the context of a Laravel application.

This was done in an effort to improve performance, as well as create a stronger separation between feature and unit tests.

For example, I change the DB_DRIVER to mysql and the APP_URL for Dusk to the built-in Artisan web server.
