or: clipping images to a known polygon path) Out Graphic Designer came up with this beautiful layout with thumbnails shaped as hexagons. The hexagons would overlap, in some places, and also they need to stay on top of some images, so we could not afford to have a white background.

For this reason it will be a PNG (because we need transparency) with a hole in the middle, where the image goes. It will look like this: The second mask will be identical, but with reversed transparency.
