And now, thanks to Laravel, it is still going as strong as ever! To support this popularity, Scout APM works hard to provide a PHP application performance monitoring agent to sit alongside their existing Ruby, Python, Node.js, and Elixir agents, and we thought it would be a good idea to show you folks how easy it is to get started with it and to highlight the main features to the Laravel community.

To do that, open up your project’s .env file in your favourite text editor and add the following three lines to the end of the file: You can find your account’s Agent Key on the settings page of Scout.

These pages are where you will spend most of your time in Scout, and they give you the sort of visibility that is essential when trying to understand your performance issues.

And in the meantime you can add some custom instrumentation yourself, it’s really easy to get started, and it will ensure that you have full visibility of your whole application.
